Celebrating PRINCE’s 21st birthday!
It’s another big day at Project Chimps because today we’re celebrating Prince’s 21st birthday!
Prince has established himself as the alpha of his group on B Side of the Laurie & Carlee McGrath Chateau villa. While he prefers to stay out of conflicts, he’s still very close to the other chimps in his group. He spends a lot of his time grooming and playing with everyone so that no one feels left out.
Prince is especially close with fraternal twins Keith and Kevin and often hangs out with both! He’s also very patient with Paul, whose big feelings can occasionally cause chaos within the group. Still, Prince always helps him feel heard!
The now-21 year old arrived at Project Chimps in June of 2022, making this his third birthday at the sanctuary! He’s the older half-brother of Loretta and they look very much alike! They both have the same mother, Precious, who also lives at the sanctuary. Both Prince and Loretta love carrying around blankets and plush toys but he has his own favorite — puppets!
He’s obsessed with puppets! We have a guinea pig and moose puppet at the sanctuary and Prince is always excited to see them. He also likes mirrors and loves admiring his own reflection. While looking at himself, Prince pulls down his bottom lip so he can closely examine his gums and teeth.
Although many chimps at the sanctuary positively adore juice, Prince isn’t a fan. In addition, he enjoys laying as flat as possible on his stomach, almost like he’s trying to melt into the floor!
