Welcome to Project Chimps' Teacher Portal!

We are so excited that you have joined us and chosen to venture down the path of chimpanzees! We love chimps and since 2014 we have been working on behalf of chimpanzees. This portal is our next step in sharing our knowledge of chimps with the world and creating a platform where we can connect and interact with chimpanzee lovers worldwide.

In this portal you will find lesson plans, games and activities that can be downloaded and used in your classroom. You also have the choice of having a Project Chimps’ representative teach them to your class virtually. We can teach the entire lesson or just a part of it, whatever works for your class. If you choose to teach the lesson yourself, you have the option of having Project Chimps virtually play a game with your class or complete an activity.

We want you to have options when it comes to incorporating lessons into your classroom. Our lesson plans, games and activities are free for you to use! You may adapt the lessons and activities to fit the needs of your classroom.

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES:

  • Crossword Puzzle- checkout the Project Chimp’s website to find the answers!
  • Chimp Haikus- share your love of chimps by writing them haikus!

ONSITE FIELD TRIP ACTIVITIES:

Chimpardy/Chimp Trivia- We have created a chimpanzee-based Trivia Game for each school level. Each trivia game is paired with a story or document that can be shared with your students ahead of time. These stories contain answers to the trivia game. You can download and share the story with your students and play the trivia game with them, or you can share the story with your students and then interact with us virtually and we can play the trivia game with your students!

Trait Toss- Our version of cornhole that explores different characteristics and challenges students to determine if they are related to Chimps, Humans or BOTH.

Guided Nature Hike- Join one of our volunteer Trail Guides to explore the Green/Nature Trail and potentially pair it with a fun educational game or a tour of Project Harvest- our garden.

Won't You Help?

This project would not be possible without our many generous individual supporters and volunteers. We rely on donations to fulfill our mission, including caring for our existing residents and expanding the sanctuary to accommodate those chimpanzees still waiting in the lab.

Won’t you help us bring the remaining chimps to sanctuary by supporting Project Chimps today? Please donate today because...
