Volunteer Vacations

Spend a week with chimpanzees in the Blue Ridge Mountains! Join our team for a fun-filled week and help to provide care for former research chimpanzees.

Volunteer Vacations offer the opportunity to give back, see chimpanzees up close, meet other animal enthusiasts, and enjoy the mountains! We offer two types of Volunteer Vacations, Chimpcation and Spring Brachiate.

 Volunteer Vacation Activities include:

  • Building and maintaining chimpanzee habitats;
  • Gardening and harvesting fresh produce and plants;
  • Making seasonal enrichment items for the chimps;
  • And so much more!

A week-long vacation opportunity perfect for individuals, couples, and friends interested in taking a break and making a difference in the lives of former research chimpanzees.

A week-long alternative Spring Break program for current college students interested in working at a chimpanzee sanctuary, exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, and meeting other animal lovers.
