Charlie was part of the most recent chimp transport to Project Chimps from the New Iberia Research Center in Louisiana! He made the journey to sanctuary alongside five other male chimpanzees and will soon meet the rest of his new group in Chateau after completing quarantine.
In Charlie’s world, everything edible belongs to him, and he approaches mealtime with enthusiasm and confidence. He especially loves liquids and doesn’t hesitate to show his excitement by stomping or banging on the mesh when he knows a drink is coming his way.
When he’s not focused on snacks, Charlie can often be found sprawled out on the floor in total relaxation, making himself right at home. He also bears a striking resemblance to his full brother, Tony, one of the chimps who arrived in last year’s transport!
