Twirp

Twirp was part of the most recent chimp transport to Project Chimps from the New Iberia Research Center in Louisiana! He made the journey to sanctuary alongside five other male chimpanzees and will soon meet the rest of his new group in Chateau after completing quarantine.

So far, Twirp is already showing off a playful and expressive personality. When he arrived, he made sure to greet every single human one by one. Twirp has been known to randomly shout into the void (we’re still trying to figure out what he’s saying!), and has been playing with Charlie most often.

When Twirp wants something, he makes his demands clear by wiggling his hand at you as if to say, “give me!”
