Development Program
The Philanthropy Department's goal is to raise funds and create meaningful relationships with supporters to keep the sanctuary functioning. They provide daily office and community services including processing donations, leading tours, writing campaigns, overseeing the Legacy Society, the Chimp Club and providing individual updates to chimp sponsors.
Including (but not limited to) food, enrichment, labor, routine veterinary tasks, etc, the average cost per chimp is $33,000 per year. The Development Program ensures we raise funds each year to support our mission of providing lifelong exemplary care to these amazing animals.

Katie Doling
Manager of Philanthropy
As the Manager of Philanthropy, Katie is looking forward to expanding the awareness of what Project Chimps is and stands for. She lives in Rochester, NY, where there is almost no understanding of what chimpanzee sanctuaries are and why they are necessary. Katie thinks it is important to spread this awareness all over the US to reach as many supporters of Project Chimps as possible.
A former undergrad at Union College in Schenectady, New York, Katie got her Bachelor's in French and earned her Master’s in International Relations at St. John’s University in Rome, Italy.
A mother of three, Katie enjoys showcasing a giving heart as she’s heavily involved with the fostering of animals and wildlife rehabilitation.
When she’s not working, she enjoys Paddle Tennis (not to be confused with Pickle Ball) and hiking. She also loves learning foreign languages.

Won't You Help?
This project would not be possible without our many generous individual supporters and volunteers. We rely on donations to fulfill our mission, including caring for our existing residents and expanding the sanctuary to accommodate those chimpanzees still waiting in the lab.
Won’t you help us bring the remaining chimps to sanctuary by supporting Project Chimps today? Please donate today because...
