Celebrate World Chimpanzee Day, July 14

Meet Project Chimps on the first-everWorld Chimpanzee Day, Saturday, July 14. World Chimpanzee Day was created to celebrate chimpanzees, our closest cousin. It’s a day to raise awareness about chimpanzees, learn about the threats they’re facing (and what we can do to help), and promote the proper care of chimps when they can’t be in the wild.

You can participate via social media. Share a picture of yourself on social media with your Project Chimps merchandise or just share one of your favorite posts by us (there are many great photos to choose from) and tag #ProjectChimps and #WorldChimpanzeeDay.

You can also create some original chimpanzee-themed art (or encourage any kids in your family to create some) and share it in the World Chimpanzee Day Art Contest on Instagram and/or Twitter. Just tag @janegoodallinst, #wcdartcontest, and #worldchimpanzeeday. It’s that easy!

Project Chimps will be out in the community in North Georgia on Saturday from 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tour our transport trailer and learn more about the chimps’ journey to sanctuary, ask questions about the chimps, and get some cool Project Chimps merchandise! See our Facebook event here.
