Celebrating JOSH’s 34th birthday!
Yesterday, we posted a blog celebrating chimpanzee Krystal’s 15th birthday, and today’s yet another birthday in the same villa! Today on September 30th, we’re thrilled to celebrate Josh’s 34th birthday, as well as his 8th birthday at Project Chimps!
If Krystal is the princess of Dorothy Jo and Tilly villa, Josh is known as the ladies’ man. He prefers to spend his time with the female chimps in his group. Like most male chimps, he’s especially interested when the females have swellings due to monthly hormonal changes. Recently, a few of the females had swellings at the same time and Josh spent his days doting on them. He would groom them, follow them around, ask to play, and defend them whenever there were group tiffs.
Josh is a lover, not a fighter! He’s a sweet chimp who likes the simple things: good food, good friends, and long walks into the forested habitat. While most chimps prefer to seek shelter indoors when it rains, Josh loves spending rainy days outside. He tends to let the other males in his group settle disputes, preferring to focus his attention on the girls.
Josh has light freckled skin and silvery gray hair, making him easy to identify! He’s a big fan of fruit like plums and coconut and seems to like gifts that can hide other gifts. A combination of the orange holey ball and a bag of sunflower seeds might be his perfect gift.
