Jessie

Together with Dawn, Sasha, and Kate, Jessie is the fourth part of the “Old Lady Brigade,” a group of four 30-something retired lab chimps that seem to delight in each other’s company. One of her favorite toys to play with is shaped like a green cactus, and she also enjoys playing with Babette! 

As a high-ranking female in Prince’s group, Jessie helps ensure that all her groupmates shift from room to room together and that nobody is left behind. She hates having the group separated and will often wait until everyone else has left the room before leaving herself.  

One friend she often does this for is Kate, a notoriously slow shifter. Whenever staff need to clean a room and a chimp is taking a long time to shift, Jessie will sit patiently near the door to make sure her friend is comfortable and encourage a safe passage into the new room.
