Johnny

Johnny was part of the most recent chimp transport to Project Chimps from the New Iberia Research Center in Louisiana! He made the journey to sanctuary alongside five other male chimpanzees, who will be gradually introduced to Kirk’s group in Chimps Ahoy villa.

Johnny loves food and juice, and always gets wiggly and excited whenever its time for meals. Even though he’s half the size of Bozo, he snagged one of his corn pieces anyway. (Bozo didn’t seem to mind.) When he met Kirk for the first time, Johnny came in hot when the doors opened. However, Kirk took the situation in hand and afterwards they both reconciled and played together.

Johnny seems to like playing hard and relaxing even harder. He chilled out recently by laying on his back on the top platform and hanging his head upside down while he watched caregivers cleaning in the human area.
