Keith

Keith is closest to his twin brother, Kevin. The two are never seen far from each other. His most distinguishing feature is his “angry brow ridge,” but don’t let his expression fool you! He has shown himself to be a sweet chimp and is very playful with his caregivers and group mates.

Keith has grown a lot with his confidence, too! He now boldly takes food from hoppers (something he wasn’t comfortable doing previously). He’s been more engaged with group dynamics, primarily because of his mischievous twin who likes to rope him into things.

Keith, a 19-year-old chimpanzee with a short, stocky build and a distinguished white beard, is easy to enjoy. “He’s a sweet one,” says caregiver Fred Rubio, who holds a masters degree in primate behavior. “Keith’s engaging and playful—with his group mates and with caregivers.” And he’s easy to identify. “Keith’s got a prominent brow ridge that juts out like an Easter Island statue!”
