Lancelot

He may be small, but Lancelot is a chimp with a huge heart! Because of his small stature, some of his caregivers have affectionately nicknamed him “little baby man.” He’s best friends with Thomas and likes to cause chaos from time to time! He’s also a skilled climber who enjoys napping in the hanging half barrels in his villa and exploring the outdoor habitat.

Lancelot is among the lower-ranking males in his group. When he first arrived at Project Chimps, he would not put his full hand into the hopper for meals. Instead, he’d quickly put his finger in and try to get the food out as fast as possible. However, over time he had gained more confidence and now presents his full hand in the hopper for his food!

He’s especially fond of produce, particularly carrots and sweet potatoes. He’s a “chimps’ chimp” through and through, meaning he prefers interacting with his fellow chimpanzees rather than with human caregivers. He loves sunbathing in the outdoor habitat, where you may be able to spot him not too far from “side B” layout out on the grass!
