Orpheus

Orpheus was part of the most recent chimp transport to Project Chimps from the New Iberia Research Center in Louisiana! He made the journey to sanctuary alongside five other male chimpanzees, who will be gradually introduced to Kirk’s group in Chimps Ahoy villa.

Orpheus is one of the more reserved members of his group, but he likes getting his food given to him in pieces. When he got an ear of corn, he savored the whole thing while he was hanging out on the porch.

He also seems to be curious about his new groupmates. He was gently tapping on the mesh between his group and Kirk’s group to get Kyrstin’s attention. He even went to grab a cardboard box to try and get up higher so he could interact with her through the mesh. When she noticed his efforts, Kyrstin came over and head bobbed at him and touched the mesh where he was leaning.
