Patrick

Patrick2 July 2021

Patrick is the alpha of his group in Dorothy Jo and Tilly villa, which is a role he seems quite proud of. Caregivers describe him as a confident and cunning leader with a fair and balanced approach to his role. As alpha, Patrick takes it upon himself to ensure that everyone in the group receives their fair share of food. His rise to the top is no surprise given his intelligence and persistence!

Patrick is easy to identify thanks to his white beard and droopy lower lip. He loves to go on strolls around the habitat when everyone else comes in for dinner. Sometimes, he will display with the toys to let everyone know he’s boss.

He gets along well with Marlon and the two spend a good amount of time playing during the day. On habitat days, Marlon will often closely follow Patrick around outside, ready to join him on the day’s adventure!

This project would not be possible without our many generous individual supporters and volunteers. We rely on donations to fulfill our mission, including caring for our existing residents and expanding the sanctuary to accommodate those chimpanzees still waiting in the lab.
