Rosemary

Rosemary July 2021

Rosemary is a beloved member of her group who has earned the respect and admiration of her companions through her gentle demeanor, supportive nature and remarkable intelligence. As she navigates the dynamics of her social group, her presence brings harmony, guidance and joy to those around her.

Her enthusiasm is contagious, particularly when it comes to participating in activities with her fellow chimps. Her love for grape juice — or any juice for that matter — is well-known among her caregivers. She even showed promise in learning laser-target training alongside Rusty. Her dedication and involvement have earned her the respect and admiration of all the males in her group and, as a role model for the younger females, Rosemary inspires and guides them with her exemplary behavior.

This project would not be possible without our many generous individual supporters and volunteers. We rely on donations to fulfill our mission, including caring for our existing residents and expanding the sanctuary to accommodate those chimpanzees still waiting in the lab.
