Samira

Samira July 2021
Samira is a chimp of consistency, spending most days enjoying alone time away from her many noisy roommates. But over the past year, Samira has embraced some changes. She has been enjoying much more play time and grooming sessions with her fellow chimps — particularly Lance.

Samira seems to have finally given in to his offers of friendship, and they have been happily spending more of their time together. Caregivers have also seen Samira actively building relationships with others in her group as well and hope to see her continue growing closer to her fellow chimps.

This project would not be possible without our many generous individual supporters and volunteers. We rely on donations to fulfill our mission, including caring for our existing residents and expanding the sanctuary to accommodate those chimpanzees still waiting in the lab.
