Torian appears to be shy and reserved but don’t let her fool you; she can be quite the opposite. Torian tells us where and when she wants her food. She will sit patiently in her corner sucking her thumb while we are serving the other chimps. When she is ready, she will look right at us and appear to signal “NOW”. Timing is everything with this sweet girl. If our timing is off, she will simply take her share of food from her best friend Tiffany, who easily gives it up. We will then give Tiffany Torian’s portions. That’s what friends are for! Torian seems to delight in running around the habitat looking for the perfect tree branch to use for fishing snacks out of the termite mound. Very few chimps match her determination to get all the goodies out of the tubes. Torian also loves to explore North yard in all kinds of weather. She is one of the first chimps out and usually the last to come in.
