Zana

Zana is a very patient and quiet chimp who is always observing everything. She always sits in a specific spot during mealtimes and tries to get staff to serve her through the mesh rather than come up to the hopper, however her caregivers are working with her to use the hoppers more often! 

Zana has a sassy side: if she thinks you’re taking too long to give her something she wants, she won’t hesitate to spit on you to let you know. However, she’s also been known to spit on humans when playing. 

The first few times she entered the habitat, Zana was a bit nervous and would frequently be seen holding onto posts or trees. She seems to be much more comfortable now and doesn’t hold onto everything around her. She’s also an excellent nest builder.
