Getting Ready for Group 7!

ProjectChimpsTransport

Chimpanzee caregivers Joseph and Brooke are getting the transport trailer ready for…Group Seven! The Project Chimps transport trailer can accommodate up to ten former research chimpanzees in individual carriers for the one-time journey from the lab in Louisiana to their forever sanctuary home here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

In a few days, we’re going to invite you to guess how many chimps will make the journey and to guess their sex. If you’d like to make an early donation to help provide food, blankets, and enrichment for the #NewChimps, you can donate $7 or more in our “7 for 7” Welcome Home campaign: http://bit.ly/2RxpS5v

We hope to welcome them next week! Each chimpanzee travels with multiple blankets and water and gets fresh snacks along the way. You can’t tell from this video, but every chimp can see out the windows on their journey. The trailer is also filled with brightly colored drawings by children welcoming the chimps home.
