Jennifer

Jennifer July 2021

Jennifer (or Jenny) has always been active and very social, both with humans and her fellow chimps. Ever since the new annex habitat was constructed in 2024, Jennifer has been really enjoying the new space and going outside every day. She also likes to sit on the porch while eating her meals.

As a higher-mid-ranking chimp, Jenny seems to have been trying out different social groups recently. She’s brave enough to jump in line with the boys at mealtime, is always a part of grooming sessions, and she’s even a member of the esteemed “Cool Girls Club.” She loves to jump in any time she sees a good play session going on (especially if Jason is involved) and she’s always one of the last to return from the habitat.

Jennifer is never afraid to let other chimps or humans know what she thinks and can be heard throughout the entire sanctuary if she’s unhappy with one of her group mates. But most importantly, Jennifer has one of the most contagious smiles with her trademark open-mouth grin!
