This month, we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the arrival of the first group of former research chimpanzees at Project Chimps. September 8, 2016, was the day our inaugural chimpanzee residents arrived at their forever home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia.

The all-female group includes Latricia, Genesis, Jennifer, Gertrude, Gracie, Emma, Charisse, Buttercup, and Samira. See their photos and learn how they’re doing after one year in sanctuary! Read more
