As Georgia is opening back up, we are both excited and cautious. We are excited because we have missed our community and look forward to welcoming people back on site to have an opportunity to see the chimps! We are very cautious; however, as first and foremost the health of the chimps, staff, and visitors is important to us. We will continue to monitor CDC guidelines and make adjustments to ensure the safety and health of all chimpanzees and humans involved.

As we open the sanctuary, group sizes will be limited to 10 or fewer guests and we will take extra measures to keep guests and chimps safe. We encourage all guests to wear a face mask and to maintain effective hand washing strategies. We will make sure we have hand sanitizing stations available.

If any guests have been sick or around anyone who has been sick, we ask you to please stay home and plan your visit for a later time. If you have tickets to upcoming events and don’t feel well, please reach out to our events team at events@projectchimps.org and we can reschedule your visit.

For those who are feeling healthy and ready to go on an adventure, we invite you to join us in June! You have numerous opportunities to come and take your chance of seeing the chimpanzees interacting in our Peachtree Habitat.

Find more information about our tours here.

You can book one of two Airbnb Experiences for a 2 to 2.5 hour private group tour. Every Wednesday in June, as well as Saturday June 20th and 27th at 10 am, you can Visit Chimpanzees in the Mountains and learn more about the amazing lives of our chimps. Saturdays June 20th and 27th at 9am you also have an opportunity to join us for Honeybees and Chimpanzees.

Project Chimps welcomes volunteers of all ages.

If your group or family would like to visit as a private group, you can work for your tour! Workdays are usually 2- 3 hours followed by a tour. Work projects include trail maintenance, building new structures for the chimps, making climbing structures for the chimps out of firehose and helping us in Project Harvest, our garden.

We have a few annual events when we are open to the public. Both Chimps Rock! and Chimp or Treat are events focused on kids and a great time to bring the children in your life to see the chimps. This year’s Chimps Rock! is June 13 and 14, right around the corner! Tickets are also on sale now for our fall Discovery Days

If you have questions about visiting Project Chimps, please email Megan, our Event Coordinator, at events@projectchimps.org.

We would love to see you at the sanctuary soon. Until then, check out our Wish List to see items you can donate to the chimps or send items directly from our Amazon Wish List.

We appreciate all donations, both financial and material! Each paper towel tube, empty cereal box and toy, goes to enriching the lives of the chimps and ensuring that the chimps have the best lives possible!

Thank you for being a part of the Project Chimps Community!
