Justin

Justin plays an important role in the dynamics of his group in Chimps Ahoy villa. He’s high ranking, physically dominant, but not particularly crafty, which means he often plays back up for more ambitious chimps. While his caregivers would not expect him to ever rise to the position of alpha, he does play a big role in who is alpha by who he allies with and supports.

Justin is one of the chimps that most enjoys his enrichment items. No matter what it is, he spends a lot of time interacting with it or trying to figure out the different challenges we present to the group each day. He particularly enjoys our stacker cups and pepper shakers!

While he’s always been close with Luke, he’s also been spotted roaming the habitat with Maverick, Rocko, and Kirk more recently. He seems to enjoy the peaceful company of the older females as well, particularly Moonie. Even though the younger females get on his nerves at times, he’s become more patient recently and is more likely to play with them.
