Roy

Roy was part of the most recent chimp transport to Project Chimps from the New Iberia Research Center in Louisiana! He made the journey to sanctuary alongside five other male chimpanzees, who will be gradually introduced to Kirk’s group in Chimps Ahoy villa.

Roy is a great mediator and has already started to form some friendships with the other chimps in Kirk’s group since his arrival! Arielle and Kyrstin, two of the younger females, have been enjoying themselves bugging Roy through the mesh, but he’s very patient and just gently taps the mesh in return. When Roy came back inside from the habitat, he immediately went to greet Justin through the mesh by presenting their lips to each other.

Roy has also become fast friends with Luke through lots of play and grooming! He did well with Kirk too, playing mediator by grooming Kirk through the mesh to show Adam that he was okay.
