As one of the younger chimps at our sanctuary, Sophia has spent the past year learning to stand her ground among the older members of her group. While she used to be content to wait until everyone else got their food before getting her own, she now steps forward even when older males are around.
Despite this growing confidence, Sophia sometimes shares her chow with group mate Tiffany. And, as much as she has grown this past year, Sophia still loves her wood wool “babies” and can almost always be found holding or nesting with a large pile of wood wool.
