Tours and Experience Options

Supporter Tours are by appointment only and are available nearly every day at 10:00 or 11:00 am.

  • $500 for 1-20 guests
  • $35 for each additional guest
  • A $25 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of request

The tour lasts 60-90 minutes and is a walking tour with some steep grades. We do have a cart available to support guests with mobility issues that can hold up to 5 people. If your tour requires a cart, please make this selection when booking.

On the tour, guests will observe the chimpanzees as they roam the hills, trees and climbing structures in their respective habitats. The chimps have the freedom to run, play, visit with friends, find a quiet corner to relax, bask in the sun or curl up in the shade. Please keep in mind that, while we only schedule tours when the habitats are open, there is no guarantee guests will see a chimpanzee as it is their choice to spend the day how they wish.

All bookings must be made at least 72 hours in advance. Our tours are volunteer-led and, out of respect for our volunteers’ time, we need to give them as much advance notice as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

The Lunch Launch experience is only available at 10:30 am each day, Monday-Saturday, from March-November.

  • $750 for 1-20 guests ($500 for the tour + $250 for the premium experience)
  • $35 for each additional guest
  • A $25 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of request

The tour is 60-90 minutes; the Lunch Launch experience will immediately follow the tour for an additional 30 minutes. Be advised that it’s a walking tour with some steep grades. We do have a cart available to support guests with mobility issues that can hold up to 5 people. If your tour requires a cart, please make this selection when booking.

Following the tour, you will be escorted to the rooftop of the Laurie & Carlee Chateau building where you will help us feed the chimps lunch! All participants are required to wear gloves and a mask, which we will provide. Non-participants can watch but not touch the food.

All bookings must be made at least 72 hours in advance. Our tours are volunteer-led and, out of respect for our volunteers’ time, we need to give them as much advance notice as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

Note that this premium experience is located on the third floor of Chateau and, therefore, requires stairs to access. An elevator is available but only to the second floor where the activity can be viewed. There are 12 additional steps to get to the launch pad.

Won't You Help?

This project would not be possible without our many generous individual supporters and volunteers. We rely on donations to fulfill our mission, including caring for our existing residents and expanding the sanctuary to accommodate those chimpanzees still waiting in the lab.

Won’t you help us bring the remaining chimps to sanctuary by supporting Project Chimps today? Please donate today because...
