Who's Who in Chimps Ahoy Villa?
About This Group
Chimps Ahoy Villa houses one of the largest groups at the sanctuary, particularly after the introduction of six new male chimpanzees from the lab in 2025. The group is led by alpha Kirk, who also happens to be one of the oldest chimpanzees at the sanctuary. You may spot this group in the North Yard of Peachtree Habitat!

Neal uses chimp play as a tool to derail conflict and calm situations. He inserts play into disagreements, which diffuses such high-tension moments. His playfulness importantly serves to distract chimps from their arguing.
-
Greg and Armond are two of the oldest chimps here at the sanctuary. They have taken two stances on getting older; one is more accepting and the other is not. Learn more about how Greg and Armond are getting used to the aging process.
